FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Mad Hatter Publishing, Inc., Signs First LGBT Author
Ferndale, MI (September 26, 2016) Mad Hatter Publishing, Inc. (MHPI) President, Gia Cilento, announced today that the Ferndale, MI, based publishing house signed Desert Shield/Storm Era Army Veteran and Detroit native, A.M. Paoletti for her debut novel, “Dark of Night”, due out in the Summer, 2017, with options for her next two novels. This marks a milestone for the Ferndale-based corporation as it signs its first member of the LGBT community.
About “Dark of Night”
“Dark of Night” is a gritty thriller / romance based in Detroit, MI. It centers around Antonia “Toni“ Andiamo, part-time Mafia assassin, part-time mercenary. She’s the founder and owner of an elite security firm that often takes on work the government agencies won’t touch. When her uncle and head of the Metro-Detroit Mafioso, Don Antonio “Big Tony” Andiamo, gives her an assignment working off-the-books for the FBI to stop a suspected terrorist plot, she meets FBI Special Agent, Jessica “Jess” Carruthers. Despite Toni’s innate mistrust of any government agency, she takes the assignment and teams with Agent Carruthers, ultimately finding herself, her family, and her country in greater danger than she’d ever thought possible.
About A.M. Paoletti
Ms. Paoletti grew up in Detroit in a single-parent home. She learned first-hand how dangerous the city streets could be and developed a keen desire to help. Spurred by the crime and violence she saw growing up, she became a Certified Medical Assistant and joined the Army as a Medic and EMT 1. During her service, she suffered an injury that made it impossible for her to continue to serve. She suffered through years of rehabilitation but always kept her desire to help others in mind.
Paoletti worked with veterans to make sure they received the care and recognition they deserved, became a voice for the LGBT community and took courses (Crime Scene, Internal Affairs and others) that led to her volunteer work with various law enforcement agencies. A lifelong writer, her work with law enforcement inspired the writing of “Dark of Night.” Six years in the making, Paoletti promised her now deceased mother that she would see her book published; in the Summer of 2017, she makes good on her promise.
